The Wildlife of Calgary Wildlife

Writer's picture: Calgary WildlifeCalgary Wildlife

Calgary Wildlife not only takes in patients from the wild, but also provides a home to many species at our site. Built on the outskirts of Calgary, the facility rests on and beside open grassland, an ideal habitat for many Albertan animals.

Overtime, some animals who have been released nearby, as well as locals have taken up residence.

Some of these include a large family of Richarson’s ground squirrels, pigeons, crows, and ravens. It is also not uncommon to spot deer and coyotes passing through or a hawk wheeling overhead. We've even been lucky enough to see moose travelling through as the area we are located on is a wildlife corridor.

These animals are an important part of our location and we are happy to have the opportunity to coexist with urban wildlife everyday.
