COMMUNITY GROUPS & CORPORATE VOLUNTEERS.

Help wildlife by becoming a corporate volunteer.

We are pleased to offer volunteer opportunities to corporate and community groups for giving days and team building. Duties for group volunteers will be in support of the mission of Calgary Wildlife but will not involve direct contact with animals due to training requirements for volunteers working around our wildlife patients and permanent residents. Volunteer opportunities are project based and change depending on the season and year. Projects may include gardening, tree planting, site cleanup, enclosure repair, painting, and construction.

Corporate volunteers are accepted on a first come first serve basis from late spring to fall.

Calgary Wildlife also welcomes volunteer groups with specific skill-sets for targeted group volunteering opportunities. Examples include skills in the trades, construction, and fundraising. To ensure maximum value for both volunteers and Calgary Wildlife, we ask that groups volunteer between 4 and 7 hours. Group size is a minimum of 6, maximum 30 people. Calgary Wildlife is not able to accommodate minors; minimum age to volunteer is 18.

Volunteers start their day with a short orientation which includes information about Calgary Wildlife, safety measures, policies for volunteers and waiver forms. Please note that all volunteers are required to sign a waiver in order to be on site. After, your team will be shown to their project area and supervised by one of Calgary Wildlife’s seasoned volunteers or staff members.

As part of our mission to provide rehabilitative and medical care to injured and orphaned wildlife, we ask that volunteer groups consider making a donation in their name to participate in the volunteer program. This can be either a monetary donation (priority), supplies for the project, enrolment of Calgary Wildlife to the company's payroll giving plan, or a donation of pre-approved items from our wishlist.

Group volunteering is available dependent on organizational needs and staff/volunteer availability.

Group volunteering is currently closed. Please check back in the spring 2025 for updates.

Thank you to our supporters

Finally, we acknowledge all people who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
