2009 CONFERENCE INVITATION
Dear fellow animal health care workers,
You are enthusiastically invited to the Alberta Wildlife Rehabilitators’ Association (AWRA) 2009 Conference! This is an incredible opportunity to share learning experiences with wildlife rehabilitation professionals and animal care workers from Alberta and western Canada, and it is the perfect event to network with people who are passionate about wildlife.

Where: Springbank Links Golf Club, Events Hall (125 Hackamore Trail, Calgary, AB)
When: April 4th and 5th, 2009 ~ mark your calendars
Theme: Pioneers of Wildlife West!
Scheduled Events:
- April 4th
o Begins with pre-conference tours of this year’s hosting organization, the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation during the day.
o In the evening, there will be a delicious dinner at Springbank Links, with Dr. R. Barclay of the University of Calgary as the exciting keynote speaker.
o The evening will wrap up with a fun and casual dance.
- April 5th
o Wildlife Sessions: 9am until 5:30pm.
o Topics will include thought-provoking talks about wildlife care, inter-agency communication, disaster response, fundraising, ethics and more! To be finalized by Feb. 18th, 2009.
How to Register:
Fill out the registration form (attached) and send the form and a cheque to the AWRA. Remember to send it in before March 1st for your early-bird discount! AWRA members, seniors and students also get a discount.
Accommodations: Welcome, visitors! The Sandman Hotel (Calgary West; 125 Bowridge Drive NW; 403- 202-6502) is a simple 10 minute drive from Springbank Links and is kindly offering a 17% discount on rooms for anyone attending the AWRA conference. When you book your room, please mention you are attending the AWRA Conference and quote the confirmation number 45218.
